Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This policy explains what BowNotes, LLC (“BowNotes,” “we”) collects when you use bownotes.com, app.bownotes.com, our apps and our API, and what we do with it. The short version: your notes are yours, we use your information to run BowNotes, and we don’t sell it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email, password (stored securely, never readable by us), role, and settings such as your Bible version and Robin preferences.
- Your content: talks, notes, tags, files you upload, team library items, and your conversations with Robin and Paige.
- Billing details: your plan, billing history and billing address. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Usage and device information: basic logs such as sign-in times, IP address, browser type, errors, AI credit use, and which features are used, so we can keep BowNotes secure and working.
- Messages to us: support requests and anything you send to our email addresses or website forms.
How we use it
- To provide BowNotes: saving and syncing your notes, Teach Mode, exports, sharing, teams and search.
- To run AI features you choose to use. When you ask Robin or Paige for help, the relevant content is sent to our AI provider to produce a response.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep accounts secure.
- To send account and billing emails, and the notifications you choose (you can turn optional emails off in Settings).
- To support you and improve BowNotes.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use your notes to advertise to you.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data for us under contract, only to run BowNotes:
- Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in) and Vercel (hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- Anthropic (AI for Robin and Paige). Our AI provider doesn’t use your content to train its models.
- Resend and Zoho (sending and receiving email), and a push notification service our team uses for support alerts
- bible.helloao.org (to look up public-domain Bible passages; only the reference is sent)
Content you put in a team library is visible to that team. A media team link shows that talk’s slides and handout to anyone with the link until you turn it off. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with this policy still applying).
BowNotes staff access
Authorized BowNotes staff can access accounts, including viewing and editing content as you would see it, to provide support, fix problems, handle billing and keep BowNotes secure. Staff accounts require two-step verification, and these actions are recorded in our internal records.
Cookies and storage
We use only what’s needed to run BowNotes: keeping you signed in and remembering settings on your device, and keeping copies of recently opened talks on your device so Teach Mode works offline. We don’t use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. Talks you delete stay in Trash for 30 days. After you delete content or close your account, we keep a copy for up to 12 months so it can be restored if asked or required, then delete it from our active systems. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Your choices and rights
- You can view, edit and export your notes at any time.
- You can change which emails you receive in Settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account by emailing support@bownotes.com.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, protect accounts with row-level access rules, keep backups, and limit staff access. No system is perfectly secure; if something happens that affects you, we’ll tell you.
Children
BowNotes isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll let you know before it takes effect.
